After spending a weekend loading the boat with essentials like food, drink, scuba gear and bicycles, we set down to the business of buttoning her up for transport.
So much to do! Lower the mast, tie down seat canvases, drain the tanks, stow the dinghy and motor, protect the front windshield and upper helm, winterize the engine and water system, and generally batten down the hatches…. It took a while.
But finally, she was ready. Gary enjoyed a nerve wracking single handed drive to the crane, got the boat in place, and she was lifted out of the water. Wow, she looks big!
After a washdown and before we knew it, (well, really four hours later) she was on the truck!
If you think those clouds look ominous…. you would be right. Because of freezing/snowy weather in the middle of the country, she only made it to Yakima, where she is hunkered down until it is safe to go over the mountains. Dang it. Almost a week’s delay. But, that is the thing about boating. Mother Nature always has the last word!
We will be in Riviera Beach Florida (hopefully) to meet her on March 3rd.
Wow exciting!!
Good luck 🍀
